Overview
Monorails Australia promotes the idea of using large high-capacity monorails for use as public transport and to assist in their establishment in Australia.
Submissions
- The Monorail Alternative A submission to the East-West Transport Needs enquiry in July 2008. Updated and re-submitted in July 2011. This submission proposed a Hitachi ALWEG monorail from Highpoint to Chadstone. With assistance from Hitachi.
- The Maglev Alternative A July 2011 proposal to build a maglev to Geelong and Melbourne Airport for less than the price of the Regional Rail Link proposal. With assistance from Transrapid Australia. An updated version of the Geelong Maglev proposal is here.
- Melbourne Airport Maglev Link A May 2013 proposal to build a maglev to Melbourne Airport as an alternative to various heavy rail link proposals at a similar price. With assistance from Transrapid Australia.
- Melbourne Skyrail Proposal A 2013 - 14 proposal submitted to Labour and Liberal parties for consideration given the projected cost of the Melbourne Metro project.
